A scientific workshop was held at the College of Law, University of Baghdad, on Monday, April 13, 2026, titled \u201cMechanisms for Combating Cyberbullying and Drug Trafficking in the Context of Conflict of Laws.\u201d The workshop was delivered by Assistant Lecturer Ahmed Rajab Saeed.<\/h3>\n

The workshop aimed to develop students\u2019 capacities to understand the legal dimensions associated with cyberbullying and digital drug trafficking, analyze issues related to conflict of laws, and identify appropriate legal mechanisms to combat these crimes.<\/h3>\n

The workshop included several sections. The first focused on defining drugs, their types (natural and synthetic), and their health and social risks. The second addressed the concept of cyberbullying and its various forms, including harassment and threats. The third examined the international stance on transnational crimes, particularly drug trafficking and cyberbullying, highlighting relevant international conventions and global countermeasures. The fourth section explored the position of Iraqi legislation on these crimes by reviewing applicable laws, penalties, and preventive measures.<\/h3>\n

In conclusion, the workshop presented several recommendations, most notably the need to activate the role of media in raising societal awareness, enforce smart parental monitoring, support psychological rehabilitation centers, and strengthen cybersecurity infrastructure. The workshop also emphasized the necessity of imposing the strictest deterrent penalties on those involved in drug promotion or cyber extortion, stressing that the integration of legal strictness and technological advancement represents the most effective approach to confronting such crimes in the modern era.<\/h3>\n
