The College of Law at the University of Baghdad organized a scientific seminar titled \u201cWater Ambassadors: Empowering Youth to Address Water Poverty,\u201d delivered by Assistant Lecturer Ihab Karim Hassan, on Monday, April 6, 2026, at the College of Law building.<\/span><\/h3>\n

The seminar aimed to enhance participants\u2019 knowledge by providing scientific facts about the crisis of freshwater scarcity and its local and global dimensions. It also sought to develop behavioral awareness by promoting a culture of rational water consumption as both an ethical value and a necessary daily practice.<\/span><\/h3>\n

The seminar further emphasized the importance of empowering youth and developing their leadership skills, particularly in areas such as influence and negotiation, enabling them to represent water-related issues in environmental forums.<\/span><\/h3>\n

At the conclusion of the seminar, several recommendations were presented. Most notably, the need to integrate water culture concepts and sustainable water management into educational curricula and extracurricular activities within educational institutions. It also highlighted the importance of supporting youth initiatives by providing platforms or funding opportunities for emerging environmental projects, as well as activating the role of media through interactive awareness campaigns aimed at correcting consumption behaviors and promoting a culture of water conservation.<\/span><\/h3>\n
