The Continuing Education Unit at the College of Law, University of Baghdad, held a scientific workshop on Sunday, March 15, 2026, entitled \u201cGenerative Artificial Intelligence in Research and Academic Writing.\u201d The workshop took place in the Model Court Hall and was delivered by Assistant Lecturer Ola Mohammed Basil.<\/span><\/h3>\n

The workshop aimed to introduce the concept of generative artificial intelligence and its role in advancing scientific research. It also sought to develop researchers\u2019 skills in using AI tools for literature review and academic writing, as well as to raise awareness of the methodological and ethical risks associated with these technologies. In addition, the workshop emphasized the importance of responsible and effective use of AI tools in academic research and writing.<\/span><\/h3>\n

The workshop covered several key topics, including the conceptual framework of generative AI, its applications in scientific research, and its use in academic and legal writing. It also addressed the challenges and risks associated with its use, introduced major tools and platforms that support academic research, and included practical demonstrations along with a discussion of ethical considerations in academic work.<\/span><\/h3>\n

At the conclusion of the workshop, several recommendations were presented. These included the need to enhance awareness of responsible academic use of AI, adopt reliable research tools linked to scientific databases, verify the accuracy of information and references before using them in research, and organize continuous training programs to develop researchers\u2019 skills in using modern technologies in order to improve academic and research quality.<\/span><\/h3>\n
