The College of Law at the University of Baghdad organized a workshop entitled \u201cImplementation of the Bologna Process: Framework, Study Systems, and Practical Steps for Transition\u201d, presented by Zina Rajab Hussein and Hussein Adnan Hadi, with the attendance of several faculty members and college staff, on Monday, November 24, 2025, in the college\u2019s Model Court Hall.<\/span><\/strong><\/p>\n

The workshop provided a comprehensive explanation of the conceptual framework of the Bologna system, detailing its core components and requirements in higher education. It also addressed the mechanism for calculating the European Credit Transfer and Accumulation System (ECTS) and linking it to academic standards, transitioning from traditional credit hours to learning outcomes to ensure program and course alignment with modern quality standards.<\/span><\/strong><\/p>\n

The workshop introduced participants to the Student Information System (SIS) as a central platform for managing academic data, highlighting its role in supporting the implementation of the Bologna Process through the management of records, grades, and class schedules.<\/span><\/strong><\/p>\n

Additionally, the workshop discussed the practical steps required for an educational institution to transition from the traditional system to the Bologna system, including standardizing learning outcomes and course descriptions according to the ECTS.<\/span><\/strong><\/p>\n

The workshop covered several key topics: the general framework of the Bologna system, the ECTS, implementing the Bologna system in the educational institution, the Student Information System (SIS), and the integration between the Bologna system and SIS.<\/span><\/strong><\/p>\n

The workshop concluded with several recommendations, most notably:<\/span><\/strong><\/p>\n

    Gradually adopting the Bologna system while updating program and course descriptions according to learning outcomes and ECTS.<\/span><\/strong><\/p>\n<\/li>\n

  2. \n

    Activating the integration between SIS and the Bologna system to ensure precise electronic management of academic credits and data.<\/span><\/strong><\/p>\n<\/li>\n

  3. \n

    Developing a unified database to support registration, schedules, grades, and academic records within SIS.<\/span><\/strong><\/p>\n<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n
