Lecturer Jihad Abbas Ali, on Monday, 24 November 2025, at the Moot Court Hall in the college.<\/span><\/strong><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify\"><strong><span style=\"font-size: 18px\">The seminar aimed to highlight the dangers of drug abuse in society, explain mechanisms to curb it through deterrent legal measures, and emphasize the religious prohibition of these substances and its role in preventing their risks.<\/span><\/strong><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify\"><strong><span style=\"font-size: 18px\">The seminar covered several key topics, including:<\/span><\/strong><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify\"><strong><span style=\"font-size: 18px\">Defining drugs as substances that directly affect the mind, impairing its ability to perceive correctly, which leads to abnormal and socially unacceptable behavior.<\/span><\/strong><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify\"><strong><span style=\"font-size: 18px\">Reviewing the severe negative effects of drug use, which prompted legislators to criminalize their production, distribution, and use to protect social structure and ensure a healthy society.<\/span><\/strong><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify\"><strong><span style=\"font-size: 18px\">At the conclusion of the seminar, several recommendations were made, most notably:<\/span><\/strong><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify\"><strong><span style=\"font-size: 18px\">Avoiding these substances in all forms.<\/span><\/strong><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify\"><strong><span style=\"font-size: 18px\">Raising students\u2019 awareness of the dangers of drugs.<\/span><\/strong><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify\"><strong><span style=\"font-size: 18px\">Promoting a societal culture that rejects drugs to ensure a safe university environment and a cohesive society.<\/span><\/strong><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>The Psychological Guidance and Educational Counseling Unit at the College of Law \u2013 University of Baghdad organized a seminar titled: &#8230; <a class=\"cz_readmore cz_readmore_no_icon\" href=\"https:\/\/en.colaw.uobaghdad.edu.iq\/?p=9112\"><span>more<\/span><\/a><\/p>\n","protected":false},"author":157,"featured_media":9114,"comment_status":"closed","ping_status":"closed","sticky":false,"template":"","format":"standard","meta":{"_lmt_disableupdate":"no","_lmt_disable":"","footnotes":""},"categories":[3,5,9],"tags":[],"class_list":["post-9112","post","type-post","status-publish","format-standard","has-post-thumbnail","hentry","category-latest-news","category-public","category-9"],"yoast_head":"<!-- This site is optimized with the Yoast SEO plugin v25.8 - https:\/\/yoast.com\/wordpress\/plugins\/seo\/ -->\n<title>College of Law Organizes a Seminar Titled \u201cThe Impact of Drugs on Society&quot; - College of Law<\/title>\n<meta name=\"description\" content=\"The Impact of Drugs on Society,\u201d presented by Asst.
