{"id":7097,"date":"2025-07-07T14:18:44","date_gmt":"2025-07-07T14:18:44","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/en.colaw.uobaghdad.edu.iq\/?p=7097"},"modified":"2025-07-07T14:18:44","modified_gmt":"2025-07-07T14:18:44","slug":"awareness-workshop-at-the-college-of-law-university-of-baghdad-on-the-legal-penalties-for-drug-use","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/en.colaw.uobaghdad.edu.iq\/?p=7097","title":{"rendered":"\u201cAwareness Workshop at the College of Law, University of Baghdad on the Legal Penalties for Drug Use\u201d"},"content":{"rendered":"<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"font-size: 18px;\"><strong>The Continuing Education Unit at the College of Law \u2013 University of Baghdad organized a workshop on Sunday, June 1, 2025, entitled: <\/strong><\/span><span style=\"font-size: 18px;\"><strong>\u201cLegal Penalties for the Crime of Drug and Psychotropic Substance Use According to Law No. 50 of 2017,\u201d <\/strong><\/span><span style=\"font-size: 18px;\"><strong>presented by Assistant Lecturer Jalila Ghadban Ouda, with the attendance of several faculty members, staff, and postgraduate students.<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"font-size: 18px;\"><strong>The workshop aimed to raise awareness about the dangers of drug use and to help curb its spread among youth by highlighting the legal and social dimensions of this growing phenomenon.<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"font-size: 18px;\"><strong>The workshop included several key topics, most notably:<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n<ol style=\"text-align: justify;\">\n<li><span style=\"font-size: 18px;\"><strong>Definition of drugs.<\/strong><\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"font-size: 18px;\"><strong>Types of drugs.<\/strong><\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"font-size: 18px;\"><strong>Classification of drugs.<\/strong><\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"font-size: 18px;\"><strong>Signs of drug users.<\/strong><\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"font-size: 18px;\"><strong>Legal penalties stipulated for drug use.<\/strong><\/span><\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"font-size: 18px;\"><strong>At the conclusion of the workshop, several recommendations were made, including:<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n<ol style=\"text-align: justify;\">\n<li><span style=\"font-size: 18px;\"><strong>The necessity of enforcing the Drug and Psychotropic Substances Law in a way that aligns with ongoing social changes.<\/strong><\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"font-size: 18px;\"><strong>Intensifying penalties against drug dealers and promoters of all kinds, regardless of the potency of the substance involved.<\/strong><\/span><\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"font-size: 18px;\"><strong>This workshop falls within the College of Law\u2019s ongoing efforts to promote legal and health awareness across various segments of society and to contribute to protecting the social fabric from the threat of drugs.<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>The Continuing Education Unit at the College of Law \u2013 University of Baghdad organized a workshop on Sunday, June 1, &#8230; <a class=\"cz_readmore cz_readmore_no_icon\" href=\"https:\/\/en.colaw.uobaghdad.edu.iq\/?p=7097\"><span>more<\/span><\/a><\/p>\n","protected":false},"author":157,"featured_media":7098,"comment_status":"closed","ping_status":"closed","sticky":false,"template":"","format":"standard","meta":{"_lmt_disableupdate":"no","_lmt_disable":"","footnotes":""},"categories":[8],"tags":[],"class_list":["post-7097","post","type-post","status-publish","format-standard","has-post-thumbnail","hentry","category-criminal"],"yoast_head":"<!-- This site is optimized with the Yoast SEO plugin v25.8 -
