The College of Law at the University of Baghdad Holds a Scientific Seminar on Negative Societal Phenomena Facing University Students<\/span><\/strong><\/p>\n

The Psychological Counseling and Educational Guidance Unit at the College of Law, University of Baghdad, held a scientific seminar titled \u201cNegative Societal Phenomena Facing University Students\u201d on Sunday, April 13, 2025. The seminar was presented by Assistant Lecturer Zainab Razuqi Shamikh, a college member in the Criminal Law.<\/span><\/strong><\/p>\n

The seminar aimed to shed light on the most prominent negative phenomena affecting university students, both academically and personally, as well as to discuss ways to address and mitigate their impact.<\/span><\/strong><\/p>\n

Key topics discussed during the seminar included:<\/span><\/strong><\/p>\n

    \n
  1. Bullying among students and its effect on academic performance.<\/span><\/strong><\/li>\n
  2. University dropout due to psychological and economic pressures leading to withdrawal from education.<\/span><\/strong><\/li>\n
  3. Academic stress and fatigue resulting from frequent exams and multiple tasks, and their impact on mental and physical health.<\/span><\/strong><\/li>\n
  4. Addiction to smoking, drugs, and other harmful behaviors, and the serious psychological and health consequences they cause.<\/span><\/strong><\/li>\n
  5. Cheating during exams, often due to lack of preparation, and its negative effect on educational quality and academic integrity.<\/span><\/strong><\/li>\n<\/ol>\n

    At the conclusion of the seminar, several recommendations were presented, the most important of which was the need to strengthen cooperation between university administration and students to foster a safe, supportive, and motivating educational environment that promotes creativity and academic achievement.<\/span><\/strong><\/p>\n

    This seminar is part of a series of activities organized by the College of Law to reinforce the university\u2019s educational and awareness-raising role and to establish a healthy, safe learning environment that supports students both academically and psychologically, helping them overcome challenges and negative phenomena that may hinder their educational journey.<\/span><\/strong><\/p>\n
