The Continuing Education Unit at the College of Law \u2013 University of Baghdad organized a scientific workshop on Sunday, March 23, 2025, titled “A New Perspective on the Sources of International Law.” The workshop was presented by Professor Dr. Hadi Naeem Khalaf, with the attendance of several professors and staff members in the college’s courtroom.<\/span><\/strong><\/p>\n

The workshop aimed to provide a new analytical perspective on the sources of public international law, different from what is commonly accepted in traditional legal doctrine. It sought to rethink these sources and highlight their effectiveness in contemporary international reality.<\/span><\/strong><\/p>\n

The workshop addressed two main topics: the first reviewed the traditional sources of public international law, while the second focused on the lecturer’s personal perspective on those sources.<\/span><\/strong><\/p>\n

At the conclusion of the workshop, the lecturer recommended a deep reassessment of the sources of international law, emphasizing that a thorough analysis reveals a decline in the effectiveness of some other official sources.
