“The Continuing Education Unit at the College of Law, University of Baghdad, organized a workshop on Tuesday, February 25, 2025, titled ‘Legal Prospects for Litigation Using Artificial Intelligence in Iraq.’ The workshop was presented by Prof. Dr. Jalil Hassan Bashat Al-Saadi, Associate Dean for Scientific Affairs and Students, and Ms. Rasl Hussein Hassan, in the presence of several faculty members, staff, and graduate students.<\/span><\/strong><\/p>\n

The workshop aimed to shed light on the potential benefits of using artificial intelligence in the Iraqi judicial system and explore the experiences of leading countries in this field, contributing to the modernization and development of litigation mechanisms and enhancing the efficiency of judicial work.<\/span><\/strong><\/p>\n

The workshop covered several topics, including:<\/span><\/strong><\/p>\n

    \n
  1. Utilizing the American experience in the field of smart litigation.<\/span><\/strong><\/li>\n
  2. Utilizing the Chinese experience in the field of smart litigation.<\/span><\/strong><\/li>\n<\/ol>\n

    At the conclusion of the workshop, the speakers presented a series of recommendations aimed at supporting the integration of artificial intelligence into the Iraqi judiciary. The main recommendations were:<\/span><\/strong><\/p>\n

      \n
    1. The need to keep up with judicial developments by amending legal texts that hinder the adoption of modern technologies.<\/span><\/strong><\/li>\n
    2. The need to involve judges in specialized training courses on how to use artificial intelligence in judicial work.<\/span><\/strong><\/li>\n
    3. Paying attention to the infrastructure of artificial intelligence in Iraq, especially regarding databases and providing experts in this field.<\/span><\/strong><\/li>\n<\/ol>\n

      This workshop is part of a series of activities organized by the Continuing Education Unit at the College of Law, University of Baghdad, aimed at developing the legal system in Iraq in line with global technological developments and enhancing the Iraqi judiciary’s ability to adopt artificial intelligence in litigation procedures to ensure faster case resolution and achieve justice more efficiently.”<\/span><\/strong><\/p>\n
