The College of Law at the University of Baghdad discussed a master’s thesis in the field of private law by the student (Tahseen Aidan Mousa) titled “The Legal System of Research and Technological Development Contracts \u2013 A Comparative Study,” on Thursday, December 19, 2024, in the model courtroom of the college.<\/span><\/strong><\/p>\n

The discussion committee consisted of the following members:<\/span><\/strong><\/p>\n

Dr. Haidar Faleh Hassan (Chairman)<\/span><\/strong><\/p>\n

Dr. Ahmed Mohammed Sadiq (Member)<\/span><\/strong><\/p>\n

Dr. Lubna Abdul Hussein Issa (Member)<\/span><\/strong><\/p>\n

\u00a0Dr. Nada Abdul Kazem Hussein (Member)<\/span><\/strong><\/p>\n

The thesis aimed to highlight the significant role that technology plays in economic life, especially through the considerable advancements we are witnessing in our current era in the fields of information and communications. This development also has a substantial impact on research and technological development contracts, as it represents a means to acquire scientific knowledge and continuously work on its development.<\/span><\/strong><\/p>\n

The thesis included three chapters: the first chapter addressed the nature of research and technological development contracts, the second chapter discussed the conclusion of such contracts, while the third chapter focused on the effects of research and technological development contracts.<\/span><\/strong><\/p>\n

The thesis concluded with several recommendations, the most important of which are:<\/span><\/strong><\/p>\n

1. The necessity of enacting specific legislation for research and technological development contracts, emphasizing the integration of this contract’s activities with development activities and plans to ensure the sustainability of these contracts and unify the objectives to be achieved through them.<\/span><\/strong><\/p>\n

2. The need to provide the necessary materials and means to conduct research and development activities by supplying specialized human resources and the financial resources required to fund scientific research and technological development activities, as well as providing the necessary equipment.<\/span><\/strong><\/p>\n

3. The necessity for the Iraqi legislator to stipulate the necessary procedures in the event of disclosing information or secrets that constitute technological innovation.<\/span><\/strong><\/p>\n
