{"id":5072,"date":"2024-12-12T21:04:51","date_gmt":"2024-12-12T21:04:51","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/en.colaw.uobaghdad.edu.iq\/?p=5072"},"modified":"2024-12-12T21:04:51","modified_gmt":"2024-12-12T21:04:51","slug":"the-womens-affairs-unit-holds-a-seminar-on-violence-against-women","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/en.colaw.uobaghdad.edu.iq\/?p=5072","title":{"rendered":"The Women&#8217;s Affairs Unit holds a seminar on violence against women."},"content":{"rendered":"<p style=\"text-align: justify\"><strong><span style=\"font-size: 18px\">Under the patronage of Professor Dr. Ali Hadi Al-Hilali, Dean of the College of Law at the University of Baghdad, and on the occasion of the 16 Days campaign of Activism Violence Against Women, the Women&#8217;s Affairs Unit in our college held an educational scientific seminar titled &#8220;Violence Against Women: Sexual Harassment as a Model.&#8221; The seminar was delivered by the lecturer in Criminal Law, Assistant Lecturer Russul Khaled Ibrahim, and attended by college members, staff, and students in the college, on Sunday, December 8, 2024, in the model courtroom of the college.<\/span><\/strong><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify\"><strong><span style=\"font-size: 18px\">The seminar aimed to &#8220;define sexual harassment, explain its causes, and raise awareness to confront it.&#8221;<\/span><\/strong><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify\"><strong><span style=\"font-size: 18px\">The seminar reached a set of recommendations that included:<\/span><\/strong><br \/>\n<strong><span style=\"font-size: 18px\">First: The necessity of enacting strict legislation to punish and deter harassers.<\/span><\/strong><br \/>\n<strong><span style=\"font-size: 18px\">Second: Providing legal and psychological support for victims by assisting them in obtaining justice and enabling them to report harassment without fear of consequences and making female members of the community police responsible for receiving reports to alleviate the embarrassment for the victim who has been subjected to harassment.<\/span><\/strong><br \/>\n<strong><span style=\"font-size: 18px\">Third: Promoting the value of respecting the law and moral values, especially among the youth.<\/span><\/strong><\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Under the patronage of Professor Dr. Ali Hadi Al-Hilali, Dean of the College of Law at the University of Baghdad, &#8230; <a class=\"cz_readmore cz_readmore_no_icon\" href=\"https:\/\/en.colaw.uobaghdad.edu.iq\/?p=5072\"><span>more<\/span><\/a><\/p>\n","protected":false},"author":157,"featured_media":5073,"comment_status":"closed","ping_status":"closed","sticky":false,"template":"","format":"standard","meta":{"_lmt_disableupdate":"","_lmt_disable":"","footnotes":""},"categories":[3,8,9],"tags":[],"class_list":["post-5072","post","type-post","status-publish","format-standard","has-post-thumbnail","hentry","category-latest-news","category-criminal","category-9"],"yoast_head":"<!-- This site is optimized with the Yoast SEO plugin v25.8 -
