The college of law at the University of Baghdad discussed a master’s thesis in the public law of the student (Abdul Hamid Shaker Hamid), labelled(quota system and its applications under the Constitution of the Republic of Iraq for a year 2005_ comparative study), on Wednesday, 24\/7\/2024 on the model courtroom at the college.<\/span><\/strong><\/p>\n

The thesis aims to strengthen the role of disadvantaged groups such as women and minorities in political participation and parliamentary representation for those who enjoy the same privacy, highlight its importance and identify the practical reality of its application in Iraq and comparative constitutional systems.<\/span><\/strong><\/p>\n

The thesis included three chapters, the first of which dealt with the nature of the quota system and its philosophical and historical roots, the second chapter dealt with the constitutional and legal organization of the quota system in the comparative constitutional systems and Iraq, and the third chapter dealt with the factors affecting the quota system and the role of the constitutional judiciary in ensuring it.<\/span><\/strong><\/p>\n

The thesis came out with several recommendations, the most important of which was to call on the Iraqi legislator to set a time period for the adoption of the women’s quota system because it is a temporary and not permanent system, urging the media to play a role in raising society’s awareness of the importance of the political role of women in the development of the entire society and that the role of women in private life is complementary to her role in public life.<\/span><\/strong><\/p>\n
