As part of its commitment to promoting innovation and knowledge, the college of law at the University of Baghdad participated in the first international conference on artificial intelligence and its potential for transformation in the humanities. Dr. lubna Abdul Hussein Issa represented by the dean of the college of Law (Prof. Dr. Ali Hadi Atiyah), which was organized by the college of Arts at the University of Baghdad; which lasted for two days (5-6\/5\/2024). It was attended by the minister of higher education and scientific research, Dr. Naim al-Aboudi, and the undersecretary of the ministry for Scientific Research Affairs, Prof. Dr. Haider Abd; and the president of the University of Baghdad, Prof. Dr. Baha Ibrahim Insaf, along with participants from Arab and local universities.<\/span><\/strong><\/p>\n

During the conference, the lecturer (Dr. Lubna Abdul Hussein) touched upon the importance of integrating modern technologies such as artificial intelligence in legal Sciences, as the law is considered the cornerstone when using artificial intelligence in accordance with moral and societal values; legal legislation ensures the use of this intelligence in a way that preserves privacy and protects personal data, and works to prevent any discrimination that may arise from algorithmic systems.<\/span><\/strong><\/p>\n

On the other hand, the legal framework contributes to building users ‘ confidence in adopting the new technology by determining who bears responsibility in cases of errors or damages that may result from artificial intelligence applications.<\/span><\/strong><\/p>\n

These legal efforts are fundamental to affirm that future technologies benefit society without encroaching on rights or creating social gaps.<\/span><\/strong><\/p>\n

The college of law at the University of Baghdad appreciates these opportunities to participate in important discussions that will contribute to shaping the future of the humanities, emphasizing the importance of the safe and ethical use of modern technologies.<\/span><\/strong><\/p>\n
