The Public Law at the college of Law, University of Baghdad, held a seminar entitled (the Subjectivity of Urban Planning and its Role in Reducing Desertification) delivered by the lecturer at the Public Law (Dr. Rasha Mohammed Jafar), on Tuesday, 23\/4\/2024 on the model courtroom at the college.<\/span><\/strong><\/p>\n

The seminar aims to shed light on the concept of desertification and urban planning, the causes of desertification and its negative effects, the legal basis for urban planning and desertification and the competent authority, with the most important preventive and therapeutic means to reduce the expansion of decertified lands and ending with the most important factors that exacerbate the phenomenon of desertification.<\/span><\/strong><\/p>\n

The seminar reached several recommendations, the most important of which is to speed up the enactment of the urban planning law in Iraq , similar to the existing legislation in comparative countries, while working to new issues and updated legislation, or complementary to the existing legislation in a way that serves the community and meet all its requirements, a certain entity should be assigned to prepare urban plans and basic and detailed designs, we call on the constitutional legislator to take the subject of urban planning into account when making any upcoming constitutional amendments.<\/span><\/strong><\/p>\n
