The Continuing Education Unit at the college of Law, University of Baghdad, held a scientific seminar entitled (The mutual relationship between international humanitarian law and Iraqi law), presented by the head of the international law (Dr. Mahmoud Khalil Jafar), and in the presence of the lecturers, staff and students of the College, on Wednesday, corresponding to 2024\/3\/27 on the conference hall at the college.<\/span><\/strong><\/p>\n

The seminar aims to disseminate the provisions of international humanitarian law and to demonstrate Iraq’s commitment to the provisions of international humanitarian law.<\/span><\/strong><\/p>\n

The seminar included several topics, including the reception of Iraqi law to the provisions of international humanitarian law, Iraq’s commitment to work on the implementation and development of international humanitarian law.<\/span><\/strong><\/p>\n

The seminar came up with several recommendations, the most important of which are activating the role of the media in disseminating the provisions of international humanitarian law to increase knowledge of it among the Iraqi society, increasing conferences, seminars and workshops to raise awareness of the importance of this law and the statement of its provisions, including an explicit text on the legal value of humanitarian treaties in the Iraqi constitution..<\/span><\/strong><\/p>\n
