The branch of Criminal Law at the college of Law, University of Baghdad, held a scientific seminar entitled (application of the principle of social solidarity in the code of Criminal Procedure), delivered by the official of the Criminal Law (Dr. Samer Saadoun Abboud), and in the presence of a number of lecturers and post- graduate students, on Thursday, 2024\/02\/29 at the college of Law Building.<\/span><\/strong><\/p>\n

The seminar aims to present the problems in order to find solutions in activating the principle of social solidarity at the legal level, which in turn will be reflected on the behavior of individuals in society, which raises the degree of awareness of The Citizen, which is certainly reflected on raising society in various aspects .<\/span><\/strong><\/p>\n

The seminar came up with several recommendations, the most important of which is to amend Article (1\/A) of the code of criminal procedure because it limits the scope of social solidarity between individuals, the person who learned of the occurrence of a crime has a moral and legal obligation to inform about the crimes and any dangerous act that threatens the lives of others, and the recommendation to add another paragraph to Article (39) of the code of Criminal Procedure obliges all individuals to take exceptional measures in the case of the crime witnessed agencies and as the following: (6) any member of society witnesses a crime in the act.<\/span><\/strong><\/p>\n
