The Continuing Education Unit at the College of Law, University of Baghdad, organized a scientific seminar on “Environmental Protection in International Humanitarian Law.” It was delivered by the lecturer in the International Law Department, Mr. Mohammed Ismail Jumaa, and was attended by faculty members and staff of the college. The seminar took place on Sunday, October 30, 2023, in the Model Courtroom of the college.<\/span><\/strong>
\nThe seminar aims to emphasize the need for individual criminal responsibility or responsibility for environmental protection measures and to raise awareness of the importance of the environment among civilians and military personnel.<\/span><\/strong>
\nThe seminar included several topics, including the definition of the environment and its impact on armed conflicts, environmental pollutants, and environmental protection during armed conflicts.<\/span><\/strong>
\nThe seminar concluded with several recommendations, including the need to take preventive measures and establish a comprehensive and effective agreement for environmental protection.<\/span><\/strong><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
