The College of Law in University of Baghdad is one of the oldest educational institutions in Iraq that was established in 1908, It has influenced intellectually and politically the Iraqi reality, as its students occupied the highest administrative and political positions and played important roles in the history of Iraq , so it was necessary to Documenting the history of this great scientific edifice through a private museum in the college, as the college museum was officially opened in 2013. The museum was developed and supplied with important historical holdings that embody the history of the college in the basic form, and the museum is designed in a modern way that suits the originality of this college.
The Importance of the Museum:
- Embodying and consolidating the history of the college from its inception to the present day and to ensure the continuity of activity to provide complete information about the history and heritage of the college.
- Protecting scientific heritage and including it in a cultural framework that is compatible with the needs and requirements of society.
- Presenting a comprehensive vision of the past and present and discovering it at the same time for contemporaries.
- Preserving valuables from damage and tampering.
- Establishing an official reference and website to host scientific, cultural and artistic meetings and official visits.
- Making students interested in the college's heritage and introducing its holdings through visits to the museum site and drawing their attention to the ancient history of the college they desire.

Modernization of Museum
Recently, in the year 2021, and with direct efforts and supervision by Prof. Dr. Ali Hadi Al-Hilali / Dean of the College, and with the follow-up of Prof. Dr. Akram Muhammad Hussein / Administrative Associate, the address was moved from its previous location in a building, after preparing the appropriate and most appropriate place to preserve the museum’s historical holdings, where it was expanded The area of the museum has increased to (100) square meters, after its previous area was (20) square meters. The new place has become accommodating what has been developed and found of holdings, the most important of which are:
- A unique piece of marble stone inscribed with the date of the establishment of the college building.
- Add (50) administrative documents.
- Documenting the name of the first student from inception to 2021
- A Portraits Of graduation for college students.
- A Portraits courtesy of graduates of the college.
- An image that embodies a number of college graduates who graduated in the nineties and achieved prestigious positions in the Iraqi state, and it was taken at the alumni forum ceremony in October 2020
