On Wednesday, 24 June 2026, the Industrial Advisory Council of the College of Law convened under the chairmanship of the Dean of the College, Professor Dr. Ali Hadi Atiyah. The meeting was attended by the Assistant Dean for Scientific Affairs and Students, Professor Dr. Jalil Hassan Bashat; Professor Dr. Ban Salah Abdul Qader, Head of the Quality Assurance and Performance Evaluation Division; and Assistant Professor Dr. Taghreed Mohammed Qadoori, Head of the Department of Public Law.
The meeting was also attended by the Council’s external members, including Major General (Legal) Dr. Iyad Hamza Bayouwi, Director of the Security Forces Development and Support Fund at the Ministry of Interior; Mr. Hazem Mohammed Nasser Al-Rudaini from the Strategic Center for Human Rights in Iraq; and Mr. Mohammed Nouri Ali, Director of Al Tamimi & Company Legal Consultants.
The Council discussed several key issues aimed at ensuring that the College’s educational outcomes keep pace with the rapidly evolving needs of local, regional, and international labor markets. Discussions focused on developing future-ready skills, moving beyond traditional approaches to knowledge acquisition, and enhancing the effective delivery of knowledge. These efforts are intended to transform students from passive recipients of information into active participants in the learning process, while continuously improving the quality of teaching and learning.
The Council also established mechanisms for integrating the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) into the College’s curriculum. In addition, members presented several proposals emphasizing practical application, professional training, and curriculum development to better equip graduates with the competencies required by the legal profession and to support the College’s ongoing academic development.
