As part of the College of Law at the University of Baghdad’s ongoing commitment to excellence, quality assurance in education and learning, the enhancement of its academic outcomes, and continuous improvement toward achieving international rankings, and in implementation of the directives of the Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research, the Scientific Supervision and Evaluation Authority, and the Presidency of the University of Baghdad regarding the External Examiner Program, the College hosted Professor Dr. Mohammad Sardouna Sab from the University of Tehran on Sunday, 28 June 2026.
The visiting professor was accompanied by Assistant Professor Dr. Huda Qasim Saeed, Head of the Education and Learning Support Division at the Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research and Coordinator of the External Examiner Program, and Assistant Professor Dr. Luma Hassan Alwan, Head of the Accreditation Division at the Quality Assurance and University Performance Department of the University of Baghdad.
The delegation was welcomed by the Dean of the College of Law, Professor Dr. Ali Hadi Atiyah; the Assistant Dean for Scientific Affairs and Students, Professor Dr. Jalil Hassan Bashat; the Assistant Dean for Administrative and Financial Affairs, Assistant Professor Dr. Harith Ali Ibrahim; as well as the heads of the academic departments and members of the College’s faculty.
The visit commenced with attendance at several doctoral seminars in the Department of Private Law, followed by a meeting with PhD students and a discussion with the department’s faculty members. The delegation also attended a postgraduate thesis defense at the College. Subsequently, the delegation visited the Department of Private Law, headed by Assistant Professor Dr. Amer Ghanim Alwan, where they reviewed the department’s documentation, supporting evidence, and the academic and administrative procedures in place.
At the conclusion of the visit, the delegation commended the College of Law for its significant efforts in promoting quality assurance in higher education. They praised the College’s well-organized academic environment and its ongoing development initiatives, which contribute to enhancing the educational process and achieving quality assurance and academic accreditation standards.
