Dean of the College of Law Participates in the Fifth Meeting of the Industrial Advisory Council at the University of Baghdad
The Dean of the College of Law at the University of Baghdad, Prof. Dr. Ali Hadi Atiyah, participated in the proceedings of the Fifth Meeting of the Industrial Advisory Council, which was held under the chairmanship of the President of the University of Baghdad, Prof. Dr. Alaa Abdul Hassan Al-Zughaybi. The meeting was attended by a distinguished group of senior representatives from state institutions and the private sector, in addition to several college deans and department directors, to discuss mechanisms for enhancing the alignment of higher education outcomes with development requirements and labor market needs.
The meeting addressed a number of important strategic topics, including artificial intelligence and digital industrial transformation, patents, joint research projects, training and capacity-building programs, as well as future jobs and the skills required in the coming years. These discussions aimed to contribute to the development of the educational environment and the promotion of innovation.
During the meeting, the President of the University of Baghdad emphasized the importance of strengthening partnerships between the university and the sectors of employment and production, developing academic programs, and directing scientific research toward addressing national challenges and transforming knowledge into practical applications with developmental impact.
The Council concluded with a set of recommendations, most notably the launch of the University of Baghdad Observatory for Future Skills, which will serve as a specialized platform for monitoring labor market transformations and anticipating emerging skills. This initiative is expected to contribute to updating curricula and academic programs while enhancing graduates’ readiness to meet future demands.
