The College of Law – University of Baghdad, in cooperation with the Institute of Genetic Engineering and Biotechnology for Postgraduate Studies, announces the organization of the First Scientific Conference on Genetic Engineering in the Balance of Sharia and Law, under the slogan:
“The Safe Employment of Genetic Engineering within the Framework of Sharia and Law.”
The conference will be held under the patronage of the President of University of Baghdad, Professor Dr. Alaa Abdulhassan Atiyah, on Wednesday, 19 November 2026, at the halls of the University of Baghdad.
The conference will address several scientific and specialized themes, including:
▪️ The Sharia, legal, and ethical frameworks of genetic engineering.
▪️ Medical and scientific applications of genetic engineering.
▪️ Genetic fingerprinting in legal and Sharia evidence.
▪️ Human rights and biomedical technologies.
