The College of Law at the University of Baghdad organized a mock trial in the field of commercial arbitration, with the participation of a number of fourth-year students, as a practical application of the Commercial Arbitration course. The activity was supervised by Assistant Lecturer Masouma Hamid Abdulrahman from the Department of Private Law. The training session aimed to enhance students’ skills in managing arbitration procedures and resolving commercial disputes in accordance with the standards adopted by international arbitration centers.

During the session, students assumed the roles of the arbitral tribunal, arbitrators, and parties’ legal representatives, presenting legal pleadings that simulated a commercial dispute related to a supply contract. They adhered to the formal procedures followed in international arbitration settings, providing them with practical experience closely aligned with real professional practice.

This activity forms part of the college’s efforts to strengthen the practical component of legal education and to prepare qualified legal professionals in the field of commercial arbitration. Such activities contribute to refining students’ skills and enabling them to face future professional challenges with confidence and competence.
