The Rehabilitation and Employment Unit at the College of Law, University of Baghdad, organized a workshop entitled “Microsoft Office Basics” on Tuesday, November 25, 2025. The workshop was delivered by Assistant Lecturer Rusul Hussein Hassan from the Department of Public Law and targeted undergraduate students, with the aim of enhancing their technical skills in using modern computer applications.
The workshop aimed to introduce students to the basic skills required to use Microsoft Office applications—particularly Word, Excel, and PowerPoint—as essential tools for preparing reports, documents, presentations, and managing data. It also emphasized the importance of digital skills in the academic and legal work environment, given their vital role in improving efficiency and enhancing the quality of work.
The workshop included practical explanations on creating professionally formatted documents, using tables and basic formulas in Excel, and preparing effective presentation slides in PowerPoint. It also demonstrated how to integrate these programs into students’ daily tasks, contributing to the development of their technical abilities and research skills.
At the conclusion of the workshop, several key recommendations were presented, most notably:
- Paying attention to developing students’ digital skills in line with labor market requirements.
- Encouraging students to use Office tools in writing and properly formatting academic research.
- Motivating students to participate in advanced online courses to deepen their technical knowledge.
- Utilizing the available Office features to prepare projects and presentations that enhance the quality of academic achievement.
This workshop comes as part of a series of scientific activities that the College of Law – University of Baghdad is keen to organize, with the aim of empowering students, developing their technical and cognitive skills, and enhancing their readiness to engage in the modern legal work environment.
