As part of the activities of the Unified Annual Guidance Week for Universities, the Psychological Counseling and Educational Guidance Unit at the College of Law – University of Baghdad organized a seminar entitled “University Ethical Values in the Era of Digital Transformation.” The seminar was delivered by Assistant Lecturer Zainab Rzouqi Shamikh, from the Department of Criminal Law, on Sunday, 23/11/2025, at the Model Court Hall.

The seminar aimed to highlight the importance of consolidating ethical values within the university environment and their role in enhancing the educational setting amid the rapid expansion of digital technologies. The lecturer explained that today’s university student needs a renewed value system that helps achieve balance between digital life and academic study, and enables positive interaction within the university community.

The seminar addressed the most prominent values considered fundamental to the modern university, including:

1.Conscious digital literacy: Using the internet responsibly and respecting the privacy of others on social media platforms.

2.Academic integrity in the electronic environment: Avoiding cheating and plagiarism, and adhering to academic honesty in preparing research papers and assignments.

3.Respect for diversity and openness to cultures: Promoting values of accepting differences, encouraging constructive dialogue, and avoiding cyberbullying and discrimination, especially in light of the increasing diversity within modern universities.
