Under the auspices of the Dean Prof. Dr. Ali Hadi Attia, the College of Law at the University of Baghdad celebrates International Women’s Day, in the presence of the Assistant Dean for Scientific Affairs and Postgraduate Studies Prof. Dr. Hussein Abdullah Abdul-Ridha and the Administrative Assistant Assistant Professor Dr. Harith Ali Ibrahim and a number of faculty staff and college students, which was organized by the Unit of The empowerment of women in the college, headed by a lecturer in the public law branch, Dr. Rabab Khalil Ibrahim, on Thursday morning, corresponding to 3/16/2023, in the conference hall in the college.

The curriculum of the ceremony included the preparation of a symposium under the slogan (Iraqi women are the partners of men in sustainable development), in which Prof. Dr. Maha Bahgat Younis, Prof. Dr. Alaa Nasser Hussein, Assistant Professor Dr. Taghreed Muhammad Qadouri, Teacher Sahar Fouad Majeed, Teacher Zina Rajab Hussein, and Miss Wafaa Abdel Jalil, dean Office Director, participated in the seminar. The symposium aims to demonstrate the effective role of women in supporting and developing society in various fields of life, as a partner to men in that task, and to urge the empowerment of women to further activate their role in building society and developing it for the better.

The symposium discussed several axes, including the provisions of the Iraqi constitution in the balance of women’s empowerment, women’s empowerment in the judicial field, women’s empowerment in administrative and functional terms, women’s role in e-learning, women’s empowerment and their role in legal aspects, women’s role in facilitating citizens’ affairs.
