The College of Law at the University of Baghdad discussed a PhD thesis in the private law branch of the student, Shahd Qassem Hadi, tagged (the legal system for guaranteeing bank deposits – a comparative study), on Wednesday 4/1/2023 in the conference hall in the college.
The discussion committee consisted of Prof. Dr. Safaa Taqi Abdel-Issawy as Chairman, Prof. Dr. Akram Mohamed Hussein, Member, Prof. Dr. Mithaq Talib Abdel Hammadi, Member, Assistant Professor Dr. Khalis Nafeh Amin, Member, Assistant Professor Dr. Haifa Mazhar Falhi, Member, Prof. Dr. Ali Fawzi Al Mousawi, Member And a supervisor. .
This thesis aims to show that financial changes in all their forms take a hit on the life of the banking sector, and this is undoubtedly reflected on depositors and increases their fear of depositing their money with banks, to conclude its impact represented by reducing the role of those banks and defining their activities and activities in the state, so countries deliberately addressed that. The matter is to provide an incentive to the public and a guarantee for them to recover their money, especially after the process of granting interest by banks to depositors has become no longer feasible as a solution to depositing their money in banks.
The thesis also included three chapters, the first of which dealt with the nature of guaranteeing bank deposits, the second chapter dealt with procedural provisions for guaranteeing bank deposits, while the third chapter dealt with substantive provisions for guaranteeing bank deposits.
