The College of Law at the University of Baghdad hosted the Legal Competency Examination for the Judicial Institute for both Session 52 (Judges) and Session 53 (Public Prosecution), over two days — Friday and Saturday, October 3–4, 2025.
The examination witnessed a broad participation, with 1,045 applicants for the Judges’ Session (52) and 1,425 applicants for the Public Prosecution Session (53). A
The exam was attended by several supervising judges, including:
* Judge Najm Abdullah – Head of the Public Prosecution Office
* Judge Laith Jabr – Head of the Judicial Supervision Authority
* Judge Khalid Al-Mashhadani – President of the Karkh Court of Appeal
* Judge Imad Khudair Al-Jabri – President of the Rusafa Court of Appeal
* Judge Jalil Adnan Khalaf – Director General of the Judicial Institute
The College also received a visit from Professor
Dr. Baha Ibrahim Insaf, President of the University of Baghdad, who was welcomed by Professor Dr. Ali Hadi Atiya, Dean of the College of Law. The Dean provided an overview of the college’s preparations and organizational plans to ensure the success of the examination.
The University President praised the great efforts exerted by the college administration and staff in preparing the examination halls and providing a suitable atmosphere for participants, emphasizing that the College of Law has demonstrated outstanding competence in organizing major legal events.
Hosting this examination at the mother College of Law in Iraq, with its long-standing history of academic and research excellence, highlights its pivotal role in graduating generations of judges, legislators, lawyers, and legal scholars. The College continues to stand as a beacon of legal education, supporting the system of justice and strengthening the rule of law in Iraq.
