As part of the activities of the Continuing Education Unit at the College of Law – University of Baghdad, the college organized a scientific workshop entitled “Steps for Submitting Research to Scientific Journals: The Legal Sciences Journal as a Model,” held on Wednesday, June 25, 2028, in the Model Court Hall. The workshop was presented by Asst. Lecturer Eman Hussam Hatim.
🎯 The workshop aimed to raise researchers’ awareness of the mechanisms for reputable scientific publishing and to enhance their abilities to prepare their research for publication in peer-reviewed journals. It focused on several key topics, including the dissemination of scientific knowledge, achieving academic recognition, benefiting from the peer-review process, engaging with the research community, and translating research results into practical applications—especially in applied research.
💡 The presenter recommended the importance of selecting an appropriate journal that matches the research field, carefully reviewing the journal’s submission guidelines, and paying close attention to the accuracy and linguistic correctness of the research. She also emphasized the necessity of having the research reviewed by specialists before submission. The workshop stressed adherence to the ethics of scientific publishing, writing a professional cover letter addressed to the journal’s editor-in-chief, and objectively responding to reviewers’ comments when required.
This workshop reflects the college’s commitment to supporting researchers and enabling them to publish their work according to rigorous global standards.
