As part of strengthening scientific cooperation between universities and developing an innovation environment in Iraq, a delegation from the College of Law – University of Baghdad, headed by Prof. Dr. Ali Hadi Atiyah, Dean of the College, participated in extended meetings held on the occasion of the visit by a delegation from Sharif University of Technology, Iran, to the University of Baghdad. The meetings spanned two days and focused on discussing the second phase of the Science and Technology Park project at the university.
The meetings were supervised and followed up by the University Vice President for Scientific Affairs, Prof. Dr. Suhail Najm Abdullah, and attended by several department heads, in addition to active participation from faculty members of the College of Law:

The college enriched the discussions with academic and legal insights related to regulatory and legislative aspects of innovation and scientific research projects.
The meetings included in-depth discussions on methods of supporting innovation and establishing science and technology parks in Iraqi universities, as well as the possibility of building effective partnerships between universities and industrial institutions. They also presented joint visions regarding ways to activate governmental support for such ambitious projects.
This initiative comes within the University of Baghdad’s strategic direction toward achieving the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), particularly:
