On Thursday, April 24, 2025, the Rehabilitation and Employment Unit at the College of Law – University of Baghdad held a workshop titled “Advantages and Disadvantages of the Group Decision-Making Approach,” presented by Dr. Rabab Khalil Ibrahim at the college premises.

The workshop aimed to highlight the concept of group decision-making and its importance as a democratic approach in modern management, contributing to the development of the work environment and enhancing administrative performance.

The discussion covered the following key points:

  1. Definition of group decision-making in administrative contexts and its distinction from individual decision-making.
  2. Advantages of group decision-making, such as the diversity of perspectives and the promotion of transparency.
  3. Challenges associated with this method, including time consumption and difficulty in reaching consensus.
  4. Mechanisms to overcome these challenges and improve the effectiveness of collective decision-making.

The workshop concluded with several important recommendations, including:

  1. Promoting a culture of teamwork in administrative environments.
  2. Clearly defining roles and responsibilities within teams.
  3. Utilizing diverse viewpoints to reach more mature decisions.
  4. Adopting modern tools to support decision-making, such as electronic voting methods.
  5. Providing training to develop communication and negotiation skills within work teams.

This workshop is part of a series of scientific and developmental activities organized by the college to enhance administrative awareness and leadership skills among students and graduates.
