As part of the activities of the Continuing Education Unit at the College of Law – University of Baghdad, an introductory workshop titled “The University Service Law for Newly Appointed Staff” was held. It was presented by Assistant Professor Dr. Taghreed Mohammed Qaddouri, Head of the Public Law, on April 21, 2025, in the college’s Model Court Hall.
The workshop aimed to familiarize newly appointed employees with the key legal provisions regulating the work of university service staff and to clarify their rights and responsibilities. The goal was to enhance their legal awareness and ease their integration into the academic work environment.
The workshop covered the following topics:
- Introduction to the University Service Law
- Duties of college Members
- Rights of college Members
- The Unique Nature of college Duties
At the conclusion of the workshop, several key recommendations were made, including:
- The necessity of organizing regular workshops and seminars to introduce the nature of university service staff work
- Supporting and enhancing the material and moral aspects of university service staff
- Facilitating research efforts to improve academic performance
- Supporting applied research through fostering cooperation with ministries and various institutions
This workshop is part of the college’s ongoing efforts to support and empower its teaching staff both legally and professionally, in alignment with the academic institution’s aspirations for excellence and quality in education.
