As part of its ongoing academic and professional development initiatives, the Continuing Education Unit at the College of Law – University of Baghdad organized an introductory workshop titled “Legislative Confrontation in Combating Administrative and Financial Corruption” on Sunday, April 20, 2025.
The workshop was led by Assistant Professor Dr. Taghreed Mohammed Qaddouri, Head of the Public Law at the College.

The workshop aimed to shed light on the legislative, judicial, and professional efforts made to combat corruption, while highlighting its detrimental effects on job performance and various aspects of public life.

The session addressed four main themes:

  1. Defining administrative and financial corruption.
  2. Presenting international approaches to combating corruption.
  3. Outlining functional (institutional) measures to reduce corruption.
  4. Reviewing the stance of both constitutional and ordinary legislation regarding corruption prevention.

At the conclusion of the workshop, several key recommendations were proposed, including:

  1. The need for continuous workshops and training programs to raise awareness of the dangers and consequences of corruption.
  2. The inclusion of specialized anti-corruption courses within educational curricula across all academic stages.
  3. Encouraging researchers to conduct in-depth studies and scholarly research in this vital field.

This workshop is part of the College’s continuous efforts to promote legal and institutional awareness around integrity, transparency, and to reinforce the principles of good governance within state institutions.
