“The Rehabilitation and Employment Unit at the College of Law, University of Baghdad, organized a workshop on Tuesday, February 25, 2025, titled ‘How to Reference Research Sources Using the Mendeley Program,’ held in the College of Law building. The workshop was attended by several faculty members and graduate students and was presented by Ms. Iman Hussam Hatim.

The workshop discussed the importance of Mendeley as a modern tool for managing and organizing scientific references, helping researchers automatically insert references and create citation lists according to various citation styles. It also facilitates research collaboration and note sharing.

The workshop focused on several key topics, including:

  1. The importance of reference management tools and the challenges researchers face with manual referencing.
  2. An introduction to the Mendeley program and its main features.
  3. How to install the program and use it effectively in academic research.
  4. Methods for adding and organizing references within the Mendeley library.
  5. Automatically inserting references into Word documents to ease the preparation of academic papers.

The workshop witnessed significant interaction from the attendees, where modern methods of referencing were discussed. Researchers were empowered to improve the quality of their work, save time and effort, and ensure accuracy in scientific referencing, which contributes to enhancing the level of academic research at the university.”
