Under the patronage of the Dean of the College of Law, Professor Dr. Ali Hadi Atiah, and the supervision of the Associate Dean for Scientific Affairs, Professor Dr. Jalil Hassan Bashat Al-Saadi, the Continuing Education Unit at the College of Law, University of Baghdad, organized a workshop titled “Transparency and its Role in Enhancing Accountability in Administrative Work.” The workshop was delivered by Assistant Lecturer Hiba Naama Mansour, a faculty member in the Department of Public Law, on Sunday, January 12, 2024, at the Faculty’s Model Court Hall.

The workshop aimed to explain the administrative interaction mechanisms between superiors and subordinates from the perspective of administrative transparency, which is based on clarity, flexibility, and openness.

The workshop covered several key topics, including:

  • Topic 1: The concept of transparency
  • Topic 2: The foundations of administrative transparency, highlighting its main pillars
  • Topic 3: Conditions for transparency
  • Topic 4: Requirements for administrative transparency.

The workshop concluded with a set of recommendations:

  1. It is essential to adopt administrative democracy in governmental institutions to enhance administrative transparency by involving employees in the decision-making process, especially in daily operations and decisions.
  2. Adopting an open-access approach among employees at different administrative levels to achieve a deeper understanding of their needs and ensure their fulfillment.
  3. Strengthening trust in interactions between superiors and subordinates to ensure smooth administrative operations.
  4. To activate the role of administrative leaders in achieving transparency requirements effectively, it is necessary to establish administrative relationships with employees based on adopting situational theory in management, guiding them according to their abilities and motivating the competent ones.
