Under the patronage of the Dean of the College of Law, Prof. Dr. Ali Hadi Atiyah, and the supervision of the Vice Dean for Scientific Affairs, Prof. Dr. Jalil Hassan Bashat Al-Saadi, the Continuing Education Unit at the College of Law, University of Baghdad, organized a workshop titled “Cognitive Closure among Students and Its Impact on Solving the Problems They Face”, presented by Asst. Prof. Dr. Haifa Mazher Falahi, a faculty member in the Department of Private Law, on Thursday, January 2, 2024, at the College of Law building.
The aim of the workshop was to explore methods of problem-solving among university students with cognitive closure in order to achieve a higher degree of cognitive openness.
The workshop covered several key topics, including:
- Definition of cognitive closure.
- Dimensions of cognitive closure.
- Symptoms of cognitive closure.
The workshop concluded with several recommendations, the most important of which were:
- The need to develop programs to reduce cognitive closure among students.
- Conducting studies on the relationship between cognitive closure and the level of psychological stress in students.
- Providing an organizational and administrative environment in universities that fosters intellectual openness, respects different opinions, and minimizes unnecessary social and cultural restrictions.
