The College of Law at the University of Baghdad held a scientific workshop entitled (Promoting Scientific Research by using Mendeley: “managing citations and references”), presented by the lecturer (Asst.lect.Eman Hussam Hatem) in cooperation with Ibn Sina unit for post-graduate students of the program for developing scientific research skills for post-graduate students, on Saturday ,7/12/2024.
The workshop aims to provide researchers with the necessary skills to use the Mendeley program effectively, enhance their academic accuracy and save their time, in addition to improving the management of references and citations in their research. During the workshop, the lecturer explained how to install Mendeley, link it with the word, apply the process of organizing quotations and changing them according to the style of each Journal and university, and then arrange the sources alphabetically at the end of the research.
The workshop came up with several recommendations, the most important of which were:
1- Mendeley can be used easily to organize references, whether they are books, articles, or research papers.
2- Allow adding references manually or importing them from databases such as PubMed or Google Scholar.
3- Provides the ability to create reference lists in an automatic way using various citation styles such as APA, MLA, Chicago, and others.
4- Mendeley integrates with programs such as Microsoft Word and LibreOffice, making the process of quoting while typing easy and fast.
