The private law at the College of Law, University of Baghdad, held a scientific seminar on published scientific research entitled (Civil Liability for the Use of Artificial Intelligence in the Medical Field), delivered by the lecturer at the private law (Dr. lubna Abdul Hussein Issa), and in the presence of post-graduate students, on Monday25/11/2024 in the building of the college of law.

The seminar aimed to study the impact of artificial intelligence on the legal system of civil liability, analyze the risks resulting from the use of artificial intelligence in the medical field, discuss the effectiveness of current laws and their adequacy to adapt to the rapid development of artificial intelligence and propose new legal solutions to ensure the rights of patients and compensate those affected.

The seminar came up with several recommendations, the most important of which is to support the import and development of smart technology in the medical field in Iraq, the development of a clear legal framework that defines the civil liability of parties involved in the use of artificial intelligence, the development of specialized curricula in medical colleges to qualify cadres to use artificial intelligence, the promotion of scientific research and legal studies to develop a balanced legal system that keeps pace with technological developments, the establishment of model contracts to deal with medical robots that guarantee the rights of patients and users .
