The private law at the College of Law, University of Baghdad, organized a lecture to present published research entitled (the authenticity of blockchain contracts in proof), delivered by the assistant dean for Scientific Affairs (Dr. Jalil Hassan bishat Al-Saadi), and in the presence of the lecturers of the private Branch and post-graduate students, on Tuesday, 19/11/2024 in the building of the college.
The lecture aimed to introduce blockchain contracts and demonstrate their validity in proof, legal, technical and technical conditions, as well as their importance as an important means of concluding smart contracts and completing transactions very quickly and conveniently with an advanced degree of security and protection without the need to use a third party or an intermediary.
The lecture came up with several recommendations, the most important of which were:
1-we recommend the Iraqi legislator to make fundamental amendments to the electronic signature and Electronic Transactions Law No. 78 for the year 2012 in line with the technological development in the field of digital environment.
2-to legislate a law for artificial intelligence to address various legal situations related to legal actions, legal facts and others.
3-proposes to the Iraqi legislator to include a text to indicate the legal and technical conditions that must be met in contractual and non-contractual documents in order to be productive from a legal point of view.
4-it proposes to the Iraqi legislator to establish a digital certification authority for transactions and contracts that are carried out via smart digital platforms by Smart Programs.
