The women’s Affairs Unit at the college of Law, University of Baghdad, held a scientific seminar entitled (early marriage and its impact on women’s education and Family Protection), delivered by a lecturer in the Public Law (Dr. Rabab Khalil Ibrahim), and in the presence of college lecturers and staff, on Sunday, 6/10/2024 to the model courtroom at the college.
The seminar aimed to shed light on the impact of early marriage on the educational and cultural level of married women, as well as its impact on the proper education of children, and its impact on protecting the health of children.
The seminar included several topics, including the impact of early marriage on the educational level of women, and the impact of early marriage on the wife’s ability to protect her children and family and take care of them.
The seminar came up with several recommendations, the most important of which is the negative impact of early marriage on girls in terms of being the cause of the spread of illiteracy among them, as well as the impact of early marriage on the physical and psychological health of these girls and their inability to meet the family requirements of raising young children and their health and educational care, which leads to an increase in the death rate among children due to the ignorance of their mothers, as well as an increase in divorce rates observed from Statistics received from the courts among minors in particular.
