The college of law at the University of Baghdad discussed a master’s thesis in the private law of a student (Bassem Saad Jaafar), tagged with (probabilistic contracts, options contracts as a model – a comparative study), on Thursday, 29/8/2024 on the model courtroom at the college.
The thesis aims to develop the legislative aspects related to the legal regulations related to various aspects of options contracts, including the legal rules necessary to protect the financial market and the parties to the contract and avoid price fluctuations in the financial market.
The letter included three chapters, the first of which dealt with the concept of probabilistic contracts, options contracts as a model, the second chapter dealt with the parties to the option contract, and the third chapter dealt with the effects of option contracts
The thesis came out with several recommendations, the most important of which is calling on the Iraqi legislator to enact explicit legal texts related to options contracts, proposing to the Iraqi legislator to establish an options market and encourage investors to deal in it to hedge their investments and developed markets in order to control oil price fluctuations.
