The Continuing Education Unit at the college of Law, University of Baghdad, held a workshop entitled (Drugs, their causes and consequences). The session was chaired by asst.lect. Sura Adib Hamid, Head of the Continuing Education Unit at the college, and delivered by asst.lect. Jalila ghazban Odeh) lecturer in the criminal law, in the presence of college lecturers and staff, on Monday, 8/7/20 on the model courtroom at the college

The workshop aims to introduce drugs and their impact on society and ways to eliminate and reduce this phenomenon and indicate the causes of drug abuse.

The workshop included several topics, including the definition of drugs and Psychotropic Substances, the genetic, economic and social causes of drug use, the results of drug use and ways to prevent and treat them.

The workshop came up with a set of recommendations, the most important of which is the need for concerted efforts among government institutions to reduce this phenomenon, activating the substantive and procedural law to address the risks caused by drug use, stimulating state institutions and civil society to spread awareness through workshops and cultural posters.
