The qualification and employment unit at the college of Law, University of Baghdad, held a workshop entitled (Preparing fourth-stage students for the labour market, public office and the legal profession as a model), delivered by the lecturer at the international law (Asst.lect. Sura Adib Hamid), and that on Sunday 28 /4/2024 in the building of the college of law.
The seminar aims to promote the concepts of proper professional behaviour, represented by adherence to customs, values and proper professional ethics based on the principle of the rule of Law, Justice, Integrity and transparency, the importance of the sanctity of the legal profession and its importance, in addition to the statement of the most important rights and obligations that fall on the lawyer, as well as the statement of the most important ethics of practicing the legal profession.
The seminar included several topics, including a statement of who has the right to hold public office, a statement of the concept of a public employee and the conditions and procedures followed in appointing him, and the seminar also addressed the statement of financial rights of the employee all that is provided in relation to the public office.
The seminar came up with a set of recommendations, the most important of which is to instruct fourth-stage students to adhere to all the laws in force and to moral values and humanitarian principles in both fields, to adhere to the principle of equality between citizens and non-discrimination between them during job performance, to raise students ‘ awareness of the most important articles of the law of the bar and the topics included therein.
