The Criminal Law at the college of Law, University of Baghdad, held a scientific seminar entitled (Digital drugs between Legalization and criminalization) presented by a lecturer in the Criminal Law (Asst.lect. Duraid Walid Nazzal), and in the presence of a large number of primary studies students, on Thursday, 2024/03/07 at the college of Law Building.
The seminar aims to introduce digital drugs, their mechanism of action, methods of promotion, health effects and the position of criminal legislation on them.
The seminar included several topics, including the introduction of drugs in general, the introduction of digital drugs, the mechanism of action of these drugs, the most important medical reports and specialized studies that clearly indicate the increasing cases of addiction and the negative effects of such drugs.
The seminar reached several recommendations, the most important of which is the establishment of many workshops and seminars aimed at the youth in general and students in particular to raise awareness and educate about the seriousness of this phenomenon, which has become a real danger in all societies, which prompted some regional countries to take legal and precautionary measures to reduce this phenomenon، the Caution about the methods used to promote this type of acoustics, which are in different ways, the most important is related to self and human development or to focus and overcome the difficulties of studying using this type of music, some of which are for a fee or free of charge in order to achieve the greatest spread and then charge money for listening to it. Also, calling on the Iraqi legislator to criminalize the process of making and promoting such types of music, which proves its harm to the human mind.
