The private law at the college of Law, University of Baghdad, held a seminar entitled (What is the contract of research and technological development), delivered by the lecturer at the private law ( Dr. lubna Abdul Hussein Issa), on Thursday, 2024/02/29 at the college of Law Building.
The symposium aims to enhance understanding of the role of advanced technology in scientific and technological progress; and to recognize that advanced technology is a measure of progress and that it forms an essential part of the economies of developed countries, noting that there are challenges in technology transfer contracts for developing countries; there are unfair conditions that affect the competitiveness of developing countries, and here the importance of scientific research and technological development is highlighted; the work of research centers contributes to securing knowledge and stimulating progress.
The seminar included several topics, the most important of which are contractual patterns of technology transfer: examining the reasons behind the controversy related to technology transfer contracts and their impact on developing countries, the role of scientific research: exploring how scientific research, especially issued by research centers, enhances technological and scientific progress, the economic impact of developments in Informatics and communications: analyzing how the information and communications revolution contributed to making the world a small village and its impact on the global economy.
The seminar came up with several recommendations, including the drafting of research and technological development contracts in a way that allows the developing country to develop technology in a way that enhances competitiveness, investment in research and development: by inviting developing countries to invest in research and technological development, including the search for new technology that serves the transferred technology.
