The women’s Empowerment unit at the college of Law, University of Baghdad, held a seminar entitled (The position of the Iraqi legislator on the tax calculation of women), presented by a lecturer in the Public Law (Dr. Ban Salah Abdelkader), on Thursday, 2024/02/29 at the college of Law Building
The seminar aims to shed light on the advantages granted by the Iraqi legislator to women for their economic empowerment in the income tax law.
The seminar included several topics, the most important of which is estimating women’s income and determining the exemptions granted to women .
The seminar came up with several recommendations, including the empowerment of women requires granting her more advantages in terms of increasing the exemption of her economic activity income, taking into account her social conditions, especially if she is a widow, increasing the exemptions for her children which she is responsible for their maintenance.
