The psychological counseling and educational guidance unit at the college of Law, University of Baghdad, held a seminar entitled international cooperation to combat drugs, delivered by a lecturer in the international law (Dr. Hadi Naim Khalaf), on Monday, 2024/02/12, at the model courtroom at the college.
The seminar aims at intensifying and consolidating cooperation among states to combat the crime of illicit drug dealing because the drug problem is a global problem, which must be addressed within an international and regional framework through the conclusion of international treaties or accession to existing treaties.
The seminar came up with several recommendations, like the development of international, regional and sub regional cooperation or between groups of neighboring countries to combat drug dealing in order to close all drug smuggling outlets and routes. States cooperate with each other in security and intelligence to follow up and investigate persons involved in drug dealing networks in order to detect them and resort to the application of the internationally controlled delivery method and not just this method locally.
