The college of law at the University of Baghdad discussed the doctoral dissertation in the private law of the student (Fatima Khaled schnichel), entitled with(civil liability arising from the promotion of thought – a comparative study), on Thursday, 2024/01/11 in the conference hall at the college.
The dissertation aims to shed light on extremist groups by traditional and modern means in promoting their extremist ideas, carrying out terrorist operations targeting both public and private facilities and institutions, and seeking quick compensation from those responsible for the damage to eliminate its effects.
The dissertation included three chapters, the first chapter dealt with the promotion of extremist thought, the second chapter dealt with the pillars of civil liability resulting from the promotion of extremist thought, while the third chapter dealt with the provisions of civil liability resulting from the promotion of extremist thought.
The dissertation came out with several recommendations, the most important of which is that the law regulating the promotion of extremist thought online on the basis of its content should be subjected to strict scrutiny and not on the basis of the views expressed in order to distinguish between extremist content or not, the recognition of human and citizen rights and freedoms and their observance and protection.
