The college of law at the University of Baghdad has introduced the French language course as an optional alternative to the English language course for primary students, knowing that the vocabulary of the updated French language course will be two hours a week to study French grammar and an hour to study legal terms in French for the first stage only, and students who have chosen the French language course as an alternative to English for a full four years until their graduation. The law in Iraq in many of its provisions is inspired by French law, as well as the development of the French language course helps students open new doors to obtain scientific knowledge and also open the door for them to study a master’s degree and Ph. D. in France or in countries that speak the French language.
