The private law at the college of Law, University of Baghdad , discussed the doctoral dissertation of a student (thulfikar Kazim Mutair), which entitled (new easements – a comparative study), on Tuesday, 2023/12/12, in the conference hall at the college.

The dissertation aims to identify the concept of the developed easements and their applications under the Latin (Iraqi, Arab and French legislations) and Anglo-Saxon (American and British laws) systems and to identify the legal nature of the developed easements in addition to how to regulate them legislatively and distinguish them from other concepts that converge with them and easements related to intellectual property, trade agreements, electronic agreements, artificial intelligence and sustainable energy.

The dissertation included three chapters, the first chapter dealt with the nature of the new easements, the second chapter dealt with the applications of the new easements, and the third chapter dealt with the provisions of the new easements.

The dissertation came out with several recommendations, the most important of which is to amend the text of Article (61) by adding a third paragraph related to electronic things and be as follows (electronic data is a place for financial rights and is one of the things that are a place for dealing and ownership), the call of the Iraqi legislator to amend the copyright protection law No. 3 of 1971 and the need to refer to the intellectual property easement rights, especially those owned by the author towards publishing houses.
